FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Car Rental:

You will have to use a car to get to us. If you won't be renting a car, we need to know that! We will have to co-ordinate getting a driver for you. There are a few options. There are a few local drivers in town who take care of vacationers and tourists, so please let us know in advance and we will see who is available. When renting, Four-wheel drive is preferred. Not just for our location, but if you plan to see more of Costa Rica. Despite that, we have many people who reach us with two-wheel drive. The drier months of December - July are better for just two-wheel drive.We recommend renting from a reputable brand (Hertz, Alamo, Enterprise, etc…). They have offices throughout the country and are better prepared to assist you in case of problems.
Communication:

Most people in Costa Rica use Whatsapp to communicate. Especially in our area, Whattsapp is a must. It's an easy download from the app store and you will be well served to download the app and get familiar. We do have Wifi, but there is no cell service. So please use Whatsapp. We are OUT OF RANGE OF CELL TOWERS. Also, along the road getting to us, there is spotty wifi, but it does kick in at Zorro Panda a bit.

We suggest shopping for your food and beverage BEFORE arriving at Light of Dawn.

Depending on what time you arrive, you might want to eat before you get here. Many people arrive 5pm and later. We find that many prefer not to cook after they arrive. Gernerally speaking, You'ver probably had a long day!

Your final 3.6 miles will consist of dirt and gravel as you ascend from sea level to approximately 1000 feet of elevation.There are very few street signs and street numbers in Costa Rica. If you travel anywhere don't bother looking for addresses. Best to use you WAZE or GOOGLE MAPS.  We will meet you at a small local bar called Zorra Panda, which is located at the end of the asphalt and just before the dirt and gravel. You will see it on your left. It is green with a big turquoise frog in the front on a rock. It is mostly a neighborhood bar, but they do have a small menu. 
Water/Towels/House Supplies

Our water comes from wells on our property. We are located above where city municipal water is available. Our tap water is delicious and we use it ourselves. We both cook with it and drink it. Some people prefer bottled water, your choice. 

We haver both white and color towels. Please use only the color towels to take to the beach and return them. We appreciate that!! Truly!!
